GOING HOME SOMEDAY

This song was kind of an inspiration for me. I enjoy reading the Bible and researching things. During this period of time, I had just lost someone close to me and I was focused on their death. I wondered what they might be going through during this time of dying and what was on the other side.

Through many hours of Biblical research, I was slowly writing this song without even realizing. As I continued on researching, I began to write down some lines that got caught in my head. “I know I’m going home someday…won’t need anything on the way.” Another part I was reading in Ephesians talked a lot about peace, grace, and how much God loves us. Another section mentioned how Jesus Christ is going to come back to gather the church, and in the blink of an eye, we all will be changed.

The more I read, the more I wrote and put the story together. When I was satisfied with the song, I had to come up with some music. That is always the tricky part for me, but I came up with something that sounds mystiful and powerful. I was able to record the song with me playing some piano, guitar, and tuning the guitar way low to mimic a bass sound in the background.

I think the song is a very honest song and gives hope upon the return of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
