(Calvados), France. Said he was 54 at the 66 recording, and 55 in 67living in
Beaupre, he was 60 at the 1681 rec. and living L'Islet. Cited as being in
Quebec 27 JUN 1636, and confirmed 2 FEB 1660 in Lisieux a Mason. He wascaptn
of the militia of Beaupre 1663-1667.COMMENT: Reginald Olivier, "Your Ancient Canadian Family Ties", Page 17.
He arrived in New France in 1636 and quickly settled near Quebec. He wasan
experienced mason, and had built with rock and mortar solidinhabitations. His
own home was considered very important in the protection of the Colony. Of
their thirteen children, five of their sons, went on to carry the name of
Belanger throughout Canada and the US.
